INDIAN CREEK CEMETERY ASSOCIATION
Meeting Minutes
June 7, 1998
Opening:
The annual meeting of the Indian Creek Cemetery Association
was called to order at 10:00 am on June 7, 1998, at the Comanche Community
Center by L. B. Bowman, President. Glenn Bowman gave
the invocation.
Present:
L. B. and Margaret Bowman, Aubrey and Mattie Jones, Gail
York, Edward Isham, Wayne and Mary Parsons, Wayne and LaVelle Parsons, Paul
Luker, David Luker, Theo Belle Nix, Derwin Isham, and Faylene Brown.
A. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously
approved as read. Treasurer's report was given by Gail York, Treasurer. The Association has a total of
$40,000.00 in the CD account and a total of $4,947.37 in the checking account.
Treasurer's report was approved and accepted.
B. Old Business
No old business was discussed.
C. New Business
L.B. Bowman gave report on cemetery
maintenance. He stated the he and helpers had poisoned grass burrs and
pushed brush recently at the cemetery. He stated that expenses incurred
for the work was usually around $500.00. He will contact Comanche County
Commissioners and inquire if county could poison grass burrs in the cemetery
when they are doing weed control on the county road.
Motion was made by LaVelle Parsons seconded
by Glenn Bowman that $3,000.00 be transferred from the checking account
to the permanent fund. Motion carried.
Villa Carroll made motion that charge of
$500.00 per double plot be assessed if person to be buried at Indian Creek
Cemetery does not have relatives buried there. Wayne Parsons II
seconded the motion. Motion carried. L.B. Bowman will notify
local funeral homes of this decision. This motion amends previous charge
of $100.00.
Research of the cemetery deed by Gail York
revealed that the ICCA owns more land than was previously thought. This
was revealed by a recent survey done by Pfingston Surveyors of Comanche,
Texas, on adjoining land.
L.B. Bowman is to contact Commissioner Biggs
and ask if county can blade the parking area of the cemetery.
Wayne Parsons II reported that the ICCA now
has a website on the internet thru the US Genealogical web and that Indian Creek
Cemetery is on record at Texas Wesleyan College.
There being no further business, Edward Isham
made motion for adjournment. David Luker seconded and motion
carried.
D. Agenda for Next Meeting
Next meeting will be held on the
first Sunday of June, 1999.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:00 pm by L. B.
Bowman. The next general meeting will be at 10:00 am on the first Sunday in June
1999 at the Comanche Community Center, Comanche, Texas.
